A few of the Digital Roar team members attended the East Coast Gaming Conference this past week. Everyone agrees that it was awesome and we met some amazing people. We’re all greatly looking forward to going again next year! Some of the team actually hosted their own panels and each turned out a great crowd.

DR Incursion at SIEGECON 2010
Digital Roar Studios is proud to be an official supporting sponsor of SIEGE 2010. SIEGE is “is the definitive center of gravity for knowledge exchange among video game industry professionals and students in the southeastern U.S. This year, the show will host 600-650 attendees who will enjoy up to 2 keynotes, 60 break-out sessions, and 15 social/networking events,” including parities, game competitions, music, and awards.
We will have a booth set up in the expo area where we will be debuting Ascension: Incursio, a true social, online, 3D experience for Facebook. Coming to a theatre near you!
Work begins today on Ascension War, a full-length stageplay set in the Ascension universe. The play, by Digital Roar’s own Kevin Human, was one of six plays selected to participate in the 2010 WordBRIDGE Playwrights Laboratory.
WordBRIDGE is an interdisciplinary laboratory that “seeks to empower pre-professional playwrights to achieve the next level of craftsmanship through collaboration with seasoned professionals from around the world.” Over the years, WordBRIDGE has helped shape many scripts that have gone on to become successfully produced plays, and we hope that Ascension War will one day be counted among them.

Kevin Human to speak at TEDx Creative Coast
Digital Roar’s writer and narrative designer, Kevin Human, has been selected to speak at TEDx Creative Coast on June 18 in Savannah GA. He will be speaking on creative intellectual property development and the benefits of using a transmedia approach to engage and empower audiences.

dimeRocker Partnership Announced
Digital Roar Studios is proud to announce our partnership with dimeRocker for our upcoming release, “Ascension War: Incursio.” Incursio is a Facebook game that expands on the Ascension universe. Along with “Ascension War: Triumvirate,” Incursio marks our second announced title. Both are currently in development.
Digital Roar Developers to Present at TGC
Digital Roar’s creative director Zach Inks will be giving a lecture called “Unity Indie Development” at the Triangle Games Conference in Raleigh, NC on April 7-8. CEO John Lyons will also give a talk at the conference called “The Indie Game Studio on a Shoe String Budget.” Other members of the development team will be in attendance as well.
